Pictures of my pond

Baa
I was out in the garden and saw Monti in the bog getting himself a drink, so I ran and got the camera. Got him and took some pictures of the ponds. There are actually 2 ponds and a bog all interconnect. The bog and one pond are on the top, in the main yard, and then the larger pond is down bellow. There is a little stream and waterfall connecting the upper and lower pond. When we created the pond we had a bunch of clay pipe, so decided to go with a broken waterline idea. Monti is perched on one of those clay pipes.

The rest are behind the cut

OMG how lovely. I like my ponds but yours look great all around. Looks so peaceful. What kind of fish do you have in them?

Thank you. I am still working on adding more garden beds around the bottom pond. We tried to make it look as natural as possible. The bog, besides being beautiful with all of it's plants, provides the majority of filtration for the pond. As for fish, we have koi, butterfly koi, sarrasa and pond comets, shubunkins and ryukins. They range in size from about two inches up to eight inches.

The scene composition is excellent. I especially like the way the cat's whiskers stand out against the black background. :( I miss my kitty. I became an English teacher in Japan (largely to study Japanese gardens in my free time so that I can specialize in Japanese garden design when I return to America), and miss my kitty. I left her with my mother and father in America.

If you have any interest, you can see my Japanese photo journal here: kevin_in_japan

Thank you :-) Every so often I get the perfect picture. I have some beautiful ones of my granddaughter in the garden. I took a look at your journal, the pictures are gorgeous.

I just found a great website that is full of expert advice on how to build a water garden or koi pond. They
Carry a great supply of Pond Lights, Pond Skimmers , and Pond Waterfalls. Check them out at Garden Pond Supplies.
